Going by that, I guess, dates may move forward very slowly until these new applications are dust-shed and taken for process. And, this may take atleast 6-9 months or more in my opinion (going by the processing times of various USCIS centers).
They have started FY 2008 with some caution after July fiasco and may ease it up a bit in the next couple of months. I am confident most 2002 cases and some 2003 cases would see approval in the next 3-4 months.
100% agree with confidence. My prediction based on statistical analysis (That is the only thing I have regulary done since 1999 and still doing .. no end to this tunnel...) is as under. Yopu would see +- 2 months here and there in every bulletin.

What are your plays for tomorrow?
If I do not see nervousness in the markets then I think tomorrow I am going to buy Oracle, Wal-Mart, Devon and may be Cisco. Expected return by BOB's inauguration 10%.
For Novices - do not buy SMALL Cap and Do not buy stocks < $5 (as suggested by Chintu25)

I think everyone is interested in fighting amongst themselves over I-485 instead of doing something for IV. They will never do any effort but will spend lot of time complaining and writing about their big ideas on the forums. I think moderators should not even respond to members that have not yet updated their profiles. This will compell everyone to update their profile. Membership is also not increasing. How many of us have used the invite your friend tool till now?

The Murray Amendment failed to make it through in the Senate Appropriations bill due to strong opposition from some senators for adding domestic issues with a war funding bill. The amendment wasn't defeated by vote, it was just that it was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The house bills HR 5882, 5921 and 6039 is gathering good momentum. Please call your own lawmakers, CHC members and the list of lawmakers which IV wants to call. Please call and ask them to co-sponsor these bipartisan bills
We can make it happen.
What amendments got defeated ?? I lost touch of this thread last week.
Do we have any updates on the bills?

The online application system gave me a date of Nov 27th. I go to consulate on the scheduled time to find that the office is closed. That's really bad. Luckily here in NYC, I went on the same day on Nov 27th and it was opened. The passport was sent to me by mail and received it in 10 days. I was surprised by the way the crowd was handled. I think it depends on the top person who is in-charge of the consulate.

It looks like most people want to believe just what is good for them. I have yet to see the document that says "It is illegal to issue interim visa bulletins or stop accepting applications mid month".
Don't kill the messenger.
Be concerned and be VERY CONCERNED. Being in denial will not help. Work with the assumption that the dates might go back any time. If your conditions does not permit you to file in the first week there is not much you can do. Tough luck if the dates go back. But if there are things you can do , please do...
I will give you an example, It is very difficult to get medical appointments where I live and the first opportunity was July last week. I traveled 120 miles (not much) and got mine done last week, where as a friend of mine did not want travel and took the local appointment for Jul 3rd week assuming he can file by Jul31. With the change in dynamics he has to revise the plans and may not get the appointment 120 miles away.
I mean to say, work with the goal to apply ASAP.

Alright guys, I cannot tell you how excited I am to report that i got a call this morning from my attorney and my online case status also states that Card Production was ordered for my case!!!
After 8 long years.....i finally have been approved for permanent residency. After 7 years, i will finally, with peace of mind, go back to India to visit my family. Thanks to IV, everyone's help on these forums for helping me keep my sanity over the past 2 years....
After 15 years in the US, I will finally have my green card in hand soon.
-Nola
Very happy for you Nola... All the best

Thanks for trying to keep the focus on the solution.
I like pursuing option 3 and 2 at the same time. We don't know if option 3 requires a law change so need to clairfy that. While we prepare the slides/etc I think we should contact USCIS first and while working with them educate the law makers on EB3 category based on the points similar to below.
The fact that EB3 category requires less experience than EB2 shouldn't be looked at as EB3 applicant is less skilled. Infact I have applied EB2 twice and now in EB3 and I do have US masters and 10 + years US experience. It all depends on company's attorneys comfort level.
It shouldn't be viewed as we are taking visas away from EB2. Infact we are requesting realisitic approach to the skill sets. Instead of EB2 Current and EB3 at 2001, EB2 can be couple of years ahead of EB3.
We can come up with many ways to explain the injustice but it is time we ACT. I am with you on this.
Lets not get sidetracked by Mr Skillz with a Z.
Options for EB3I relief:
Option 1: CIR - This is not in the picture right now. Nobody knows when this is going to happen and I think we should not even bother to look upon this as a short term measure.
Option 2:Recapture of visas - Again this has to go through the legislative process. With the current political climate, it is going to take a tough task to get this one in as well.
Option 3:Re-intepreting and changing the spill over rule: This can be done without any legislative changes and USCIS can be asked to look on this if we can really force them to.
Steps to execute Option 3:
* Collect and consolidate all the data in a spreadsheet from the latest 485 inventory to the yearly reports of adjudicated cases
* Create a what if analysis for the next 3-5 years for EB2 I and EB3 I
* Create analysis to show what will happen with the old rule and changed interpretation of spill over
* Create a nice presentation
* Contact Senators, congressmen, USCIS and walk them through our presentation
Hopefully that can change their mind or atleast we gave our best shot.
Add your thoughts and inputs and let us create a plan on executing this, if folks want to do it.

I am a new member on IV. Haven't contributed, haven't send flowers or thank you cards, haven't volunteered for anything. In fact, I had not even heard of IV up until a month or so back.
However, as I read about the IV efforts in response to the July fiasco, I realised there are a lot of people out here on IV who are doing a tremendous amount of work, work that affects me as an individual positively.
At the last minute, I decided to drive down from NJ. My wife has never ever been on any immigration forum. But she was all for it. We thought it would be too late to get on the NJ bus and drove down.
ME AND MY WIFE ARE VERY PROUD OF IV AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT MADE IT TO DC. IT WAS WELL WORTH THE EFFORT!!!!
For the first time in my life, I have stood up for anything. I am from India and I hate to say it but for far too long, most Indians I know have been shy/meek/lazy about standing up for what we believe in.
Hats off to all the IV volunteers, people who came in and worked over the weekend, people especially who flew into DC, people who came with their kids!!!
PS: Disappointed in my fellow East Coast ppl for no turning up in more numbers

Thanks for making my day. Post like this is what makes our volunteer work so satisfying.

This is really funny!
You had sent your EAD renewal to NSC and it was sent to Phoenix lock box.....
Read another post for EAD renewal that was sent to Phoenix lock box but got re-routed to NSC........
Where is the info that tells us where exactly to send them? Anyone?
Read the instructions document which comes along with the form.
From uscis.gov:
Change of Filing Location for Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization
WASHINGTON - U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today announced revised filing instructions and addresses for applicants filing an Application for Employment Authorization (Form I-765). The change of filing location is part of an overall effort to transition the intake of some benefit forms from Service Centers to USCIS Lockbox facilities. Centralizing form and fee intake allows USCIS to provide the public more efficient and effective initial processing of applications and fees.
Beginning February 24, 2010 applicants must now submit Form I-765 to one of the USCIS Lockbox facilities or the USCIS Vermont Service Center, based on the classification under which they are filing. Detailed guidance can be found in updated Form I-765 instructions as well as at USCIS Home Page (http://www.uscis.gov).
The Service Centers will forward incorrectly filed applications to the USCIS Phoenix and Dallas Lockbox facilities for the first 30 days, until March 26, 2010. After March 26, 2010, applications incorrectly filed at USCIS Service Centers will be returned to the applicant, with a note to send the application to the correct location.
When filing Form I-765 at one of the USCIS Lockbox facilities, you may elect to receive an email and/or text message notifying you that your application has been accepted. You must complete an E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance (Form G-1145), and attach it to the first page of your application.
Form I-765 may be electronically filed (e-filed) with USCIS when submitted under certain categories. View our Web site for a list of who is eligible to e-file Form I-765.
For more information on USCIS programs, visit USCIS Home Page (http://www.uscis.gov) or call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

having PD current and Processing time current does not mean that the applicant will get GC. the state department actually moves cutoff dates in the VB because USCIS is not productive enough (not processing applications on time) to use up all the available visas for that quarter or year and they are afraid that those visas will go to waste. so they move the cutoff date on the VB (make more people current) so Consular processing will have more applications to pull from and then approve more applications.
so now we have to have PD current processing time for that service center is current and also be lucky so an IO will pick up our application to be processed. (it is actually little depressing)
:( dang.... so it's a chance* that they will pick up my app when it becomes current. So it is very likely that I might see my date get current... be that way for some time and still get no LUD; and even worse see another retrogression on it and wait more for PD to get current.... damn damn

I believe there are always two camps in any group, different view points, ideas and observations.
I firmly believe even if words are harsh from some members they donot mean that bad, or they just simply cant see other's view point.
Over last few year, i have observed something and that bothers me, the point is
"We (Indians) are interesting people, we want to live as an indian in america";
save a lot of money, go home(india) for 15 days ....say bad things about india
and then come here...start saying bad things about america.
I like some points aobut half hearted work from some fellows. I totally agree.
Here is my simply take, if we want to live and compete hapilly, we have to really live in america as an american.
How can an indian who slept all afternoon on weekend, then watched a movie and ate heavy dinnner at night with 5 indian families who all taked about negative things in america; will /can compete with american on monday morning...when this american
got up early on saturday, ran 10 miles ...full of energy....took his/her kids for camping or went on its own, ran /exercised on sunday may be a long trek in woods...he is fresh, ready to work, creative...
I donot think anyone who slept all week/watched movie/talked negative about american society /about america can compete with someone who lived for full weekend.
These are just small observations.
In short, most of us are still living an indian life in america. This will not take us far,
If we want to be happy we got to live as an american in america.
Money is not everything,a big bankbalance will do no good to anyone at age of 65 when you cant move your leg let apart run or play.
I also believe, we (indians) donot give time to ourselves. Ex. husband, wife, kids all together all the time. No good, give time to yourself, do somtihngs togehter and some things seperately, This will give time to observe life as an individual too.
how many indian go out for just all boys groupings, not many. Why??? how bad it can be, when you just go out kick some dust drink beer if you please, atleast releax.
When i started doing it, it was lot of fun.
Same should be with girls, wives, you all should go out and do things with your friends for a change.
same for kids, if your kids want to go camping with school friends, let them go. Let kids live their life. Imaging what your kids talks about weekend, when rest of american kids talk about running in wood, fishing, hunting, mud racing.....????
Just my thoughts and i believe in living life to fullest; and try to live it to fullest too.
