NOT TRUE.
It depends on how many applications were filed that had priority dates before the Retrogressed Date (22 APR 01, 01 AUG 02, Etc).
If there were no big volume of applications before this date, then the USCIS is out of work as it relates to the I-485 applications processing. Thats when they move the date forward to allow more applications with later priority dates come to the processing desk.
My two cents.

did u e-mail them this week?Is ur application registered in their system....I mailed mine on 25th and it was delivered on 26th and I am wondering when it would be in their system???
Yes and also I contacted them via phone.
One lady picked up and told me that my application was not reigstered and it might be in return mail..She said recently they are sending the application back if the photos come as black when scanned using their scanner. She told me to contact mail room but no luck in reaching them..Its always busy and going to voice mail..

i thought same as u in that apprval has to be by 31 july, however my lawyer says i can file if approved 1 to 16 aug. confusing as heck

Yes, I am active now as I just joined newly/... not like you oldies....and inspite of this have done most of the things that have been asked from us....and by the way money is not the only way of helping....

Its very unfortunate, that most of us are very active only when a Visa Bulletin is released, bickering about EB1, EB3, EB1 etc. Then the topic dies until the next visa bulletin is released.
There are plenty of action items to do, have you checked those, I recommend you do that ASAP. Mind that the IV core also has a professional and personal life, no one pays them to do what they do at IV. Simply pointing fingers at others will not help with our cause. Contributing some $$ is also an action Item, I suggest you start with that.

I expressed my support by calling all the listed offices. Took me 10 minutes, as they were receiving several calls from IV members and already familiar with the bill numbers that I was gonna mention. Thanks IV for leading this effort. Great job!

My wife's 485 status changed online as "Card production Ordered".
My GC was approved last year august and waiting for her approval over a year.
I see a pattern of approval for people who got recent soft LUDs. Nola was another person who got SOFT LUD.

Your letter nor the proposed drft amendment to CSPA does not talk about the children of parents who applied their GC under employment based category and got stuck in the Labor Card approval stage for years and when labor got approved and I140 also got approved then again stuck due to Visa retrogression. We must include injustice being done to these children and should ask for retrospective amendment to CSPA to provide relief.
If you are in Illinois are you near enough to try and meet with Richard Durbin, he professes to caring about the children of illegal immigrants. Maybe he needs to put a face to a situation of the forgotten children of legal employment based adjustees to push him into realizing they even exist and he does them an injustice with his DREAM act.
I am a parent of an aged out child. It sucks, quite frankly. Never sure what to say to him when this issue is discussed. I would be happy to become more active on this issue.
How many of us are on this site, does anyone know. Each of us trying to work individually is not going to be as effective as a joint effort.

I just got mail from my employer and atorney stating my perm got approved and they received the approval notice. There was no aduit and it was EB2 filed on 02/07/2008.
Still I would take steps as planned for others. I understand the pain of waiting without reason. I will update you guys about discussion with Mr.Gotcher tomorrow.

Mine took 6 months for perm labour from Atlanta. It is all luck again how fast it will be done.
Is this EB2 or EB3? Is there a difference in the approval time if you're EB2 ROW?
