It is foolish to expect idiots like you to come out of the gutter because you just enjoy the smell of the gutter. One more thing, only desi consulting companies are not the problem. Companies who figure out a way to take advantage of its employees, will do so. All companies are in the business of making bigger bucks for its shareholders. If they can figure out a way to make more, they will, even at the cost of taking advantage of immigrants. Desi companies figured out the loop holes first. Some of the other companies followed, others are still learning. It can be argued that % of such elements in desi consulting are more because they were the first to figure out the loopholes. But desi companies are not the only group taking advantage of immigrants. They are all the same. And folks like yourself feed into the problem. So please stop blaming just the desi consulting companies, because all companies are the same. They know that not just desi companies but even larger companies take advantage of the vulnerable part of the society - the immigrants. Inspite of having all the information, the lawmakers deliberately did not add necessary protections for immigrants. And, even if the system becomes more efficient, people who enjoy the gutter will continue to live in the gutter. No laws or protections can help folks like you. Every now and then, just come to forum like these and rant once in a while. That's what you will do. The fact is you do not need better treatment or benefits. You need better therapy to tell you that you can come out of the gutter.

Will CIS generate the Receipt notice first before transfering the application to the appropriate service center. ( like transfering the application from NSC -> TSC when the I-140 was approved at TSC but filed at NSC)

He expects visa bulletin cut off for EB3 I to jump to 2004 in coming months. No reasoning behing this though..
Ron has not made prediction specifically about India. Somebody asked Ron about filing I-485 with May 2004 PD without mentioning that (s)he was from India. So Ron probably assumed RoW. The OP later clarified that (s)he is from India and Ron hasn't replied to that. So let's wait for Ron to reply before getting excited about it.
If Ron meant EB3-I, he's probably expecting a July 2007 kind of bump, which allows a lot of people to file but results in very few approvals. This can be inferred from his statement that, "your priority date will become current, briefly, in a few months".
We EB3-I's are looking for any sign, just any sign of hope. But let's be cautious in disseminating such information further.

if you take your h1 renewal reciept they are suppose to give an interim date. I had the same problem in Columbus, OH.
H1 expired awaiting h1 renewal for 3 years (as I40 approved). First they denied. then i politley asked the DMV guy if he could drop me and pick me up and my wife from work everyday.
he asked me to get the renewal notice, letter from employee and intent to work further with the employee.
they gave me a 6 months dirvers licence.
and believe me, i dont think DMV guys know any happenings that impacts h1 guys. its the citizen law or illegal immigrant law and we get caught in the cross fire.
next time give them the immigrationvoice.ORG URL and ask them to educate themselves.

I guess country quota is root of all our green card related griefs. everybody else can dream of getting a green card someday, but EB-3/EB-2 India & China should stop dreaming about Green cards...I am sure this can be prooved illegal.
Yes true. This is the only angle that is viable in theory. All that can be done is challenge that the per country quota violates the constitution. Then the judge can strike that clause off.

The object of this thread is straightforward - it is to understand if you as a donor member will contribute more $ (or start contributing!) if you get more regular information updates (weekly?) from Core? I know there was a funding drive in March which led to us meeting the goal of $10,000 (and then some). However, while there has been a new goal of $10,000 created for April, we have made little progress towards that. As someone who contributed $100 the first time round in March, but haven't yet made a contribution towards the April funding drive, I can admit that one of the primary reasons for this is because there has been very limited information shared since then. While I COMPLETELY trust in the fact that the Core team is making every effort humanly possible to further our cause, I am also a member of the human race that by nature seeks information and looks for leadership to be more sharing about progress. I personally believe transparency is a key enabler not just to gaining participation and building momentum, but also to creating innovative solutions to problems by engaging more individuals in the process (borrowing this "leaf" from President's Obama's playbook will be highly beneficial to our casuse)
Let me clarify this is NOT an indication of lack of trust in Core NOR do I believe that there isn't a sincere effort being put in by a whole bunch of dedicated individuals. However, my suggestion is simply an idea to further the cause - would definitely like to hear how the rest of this immigration community feels!

they dont get any certification or any skills but however they want all the benefits/promotion..etc.
In such situation...dont let the situatuion grow..you need to change your gruop/company and remind the manager that they need to stick to rules..be diplomatic.If you are diplomatic and sensible in dealing with such cases..you will come out a winner..
Dont forget to complain to the HR about this person ...as this is a recurring pattern...then they will have a record of the persons behaviour

This Tracker facility we have in IV is good. Kudos to the Admin team who implemented this thing.

There are approximately 26,000 people who have put in their priority dates and other such data in the tracker. When I compared similar cases, I got some 265 who were EB3 India with a priority date in 2002. That is approximately 1 %, give or take.
Here I have ignored EB3 India 2001 guys. But that number would be very less I believe.
1% of 400k is 4000 which is what USCIS issues GC for EB3 India in a year.
Does that mean I could get my GC this year.
Hope these numbers are right.

First we need to consider why you need life insurance

Considering all this all financial advisors (the ones not working on comission) recomend getting at least 10 times your salary for the working spouse and 0 for non-working spouse and none for children. You may want to buy some insurance for non-working spouse if they are the primary home care provider for kids and you will incur child care expenses in case of untimely death.
The other part of their recommendation is that buy level term for the period you anticipate taht you will be working. This ensures that you pay the same premium throughout the period of policy, you dont get anything back ever, though the beneficiaries will get the benefit if you die before the term expires.
The cost of these plans for a healthy person between ages 25-35 is around $20-40 a month.
A lot of people push whole life insurance but you dont really need a whole life insurance anyways, and the investment component comes with huge cost, same with universal life insurance.
I know a lot of people will diagree with the views presented here but these are based on several advisors that dont make money off of their recommendations. I just happen to agree and if you choose to disagree that is just your point of view and I respect your decision, so please dont start arguing with me.

What makes people think that USCIS has preadjudicated cases in the order of priority date. If they have preadjudicated cases from 2005,2006 and left the cases from 2003 -2004 then it is the same mess an d i can bet that knowing USCIS chance of this are very very high so even if your date gets current it is still luck whether you get GC ornot.

on the contrary, the point based system completely eliminates the need of a lawyer, with the canadian and australian system u just need to do the work urself online and the balls starts rolling then, it'll be interesting how they react to this

Just because one can apply for PR with Canada and Australia easily, it cannot be assumed that the process would be similar for US. I do not know about Australia, but comparted to Canada, I am pretty sure there would be more people wanting to come to US and the restrictions are going to be more. Three things are inescapable here for anything to do with the feds: tax, lawyers and lawyers. Any immigration reform in which the lion's share does not go to the lawyers will not reach even the banks of Potomac.
